Historic Preservation Commission
In February 2005, the City Council passed an ordinance to protect Marietta's many historic resources and neighborhoods. In October 2005, seven members were appointed to the Historic Preservation Commission by each City Council member to serve their ward. The first meeting of the Commission was held in January 2006.

Kennesaw Avenue Historic District
Marietta's HPC is currently working to designate Kennesaw Avenue as the City's first locally designated historic district. For more information, please contact Shelby Little at (770) 794-5671.
