Transportation Improvement Program
Cobb County residents approved a referendum for a one-cent sales tax on September 20, 2005. Additional funding will be collected using a Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (1%) between January 2006 and December 2011. The money raised from the sales tax will be used to fund transportation improvement projects in the city of Marietta and Cobb County.
Marietta approves beginning transportation improvements sooner
After unanimous approval by its downtown development authority, the city of Marietta is moving forward with a plan to speed up construction of many transportation improvements voters approved as part of the 2005 SPLOST. Read more
